After years in the corporate world, I retired to a rural community in Tennessee with my wife and dog. I decided it was finally time for me to write the Great American Novel, and started doing some research. Turns out lots of people are writing the G.A.N., and I didn’t need that kind of pressure.
A bit more digging showed no one was working on the Great Icelandic Novel, so I dove in with both feet. (I’m not much of a diver.) That was three years ago, and I’m almost finished. With the first paragraph. In hindsight, it would have been better to choose a country with English as the official language.
I gave up on it and decided to just write something that people might enjoy reading.
My current work-
When I’m not pretending to write, I spend my time working in the yard, doing photography, and watching hockey. You’d be surprised how few people in a tiny Southern farming community watch the NHL (Go Preds!).
My prayer is that whatever comes of my writing would glorify God and point directly to Him. Truly, He’s an Audience of One. (But it’s okay with me if you want to buy the book too.)
